2 Corinthians 9:6-11
He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written:
“He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever.”
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.
Each person has a spiritual gift from God, whether they are aware of it or not. Everyone has a talent or skill that comes easily, which can be used to help and serve other people, my gift is teaching. Unfortunately, some individuals may also use these gifts for selfish or wicked purposes and choose to serve evil. Our spiritual gifts were always meant to be employed in service to God; however, the wicked one rules this world, and some people choose to follow his ways. I have always found joy in teaching and helping others. My knack for mimicking my teachers and instructors enabled me to learn quickly, and before long, I began to assist my peers. Believers should pray and ask God to reveal their spiritual gift if they don't know what it is; He will answer if you ask with a sincere heart. However, God will always hold you accountable for how you use your gift, especially after you learn the truth about His Word.
There are many other ways you can use your gift and resources outside the church and in your community. I discovered a valuable concept while attempting to become a real estate investor: "You have time or money or both." If you lack the money to help serve the community, you can instead use your time; both options require sacrifice and are considered acceptable service to God. My mother, Patricia, is an example of a servant who sacrificed both her time and money to serve God and support her church and community. She also helped by supporting various charities with donations. St. Jude Children's Hospital is one of her favorite organizations. The list below includes several charities and organizations that assist people in need. It is important to choose ones that you trust and that resonate with your values. However, be cautious and verify their credibility; ministers of darkness use our faith to enrich themselves. Websites such as Charity Watch and Charity Navigator can help with this.
Some serve God through their chosen professions; serving and helping others like Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Firemen and Social Workers just to name a few. Then we have the saints that give their life in service to God by rejecting earthly passion and desires for a spiritual marriage with Christ. I'm glad Jesus is in charge of His body of believers to do the will of God; it's easier for me to take my orders from the Him, like a Marine, then to give orders thinking I know more than Him; I trust that everything God directs me to do by the Holy Spirit is righteous and in line with His will. I want every believer to join the army of God by first getting approved and sanctified by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Prayer will help reveal your spiritual gift and unlock the blessings of God; He will direct your path.
I or this church do not require tithes, offerings, or gifts; we do not have membership requirements or members, and we are not soliciting donations. We're a Church of the Holy Spirit, and it protects and provides for its members. The Lord cares for all His servants and ensures that I have everything I need for day-to-day living. As a Gulf War veteran, I receive all my medical care from the VA, and my wife and I are self-sufficient. I have created this website for my family, friends, and anyone who is interested in learning about the Word of God. It is inexpensive to maintain. I encourage every believer to find a good church home where they can fellowship and connect with other members. Your tithes and offerings should support the church you belong to, helping to further its mission; your church should be devoted to Christ by serving His flock. Members are encouraged to assist organizations outside the church if they have the ability, time, or resources. Whatever you do, approach it with a loving and joyful heart.
